THE GATHERING: More TV, Radio Appearances Scheduled
April 20, 2004THE GATHERING singer Anneke van Giersbergen will perform solo at the new Dutch initiative "Live in the Living Room" on Sunday, May 16 between 8:00 and 10:30 p.m. Two other Dutch singer-songwriters will join Anneke on the show. These special performances take place in front of a very small audience (between 30 to 40 people) in real Dutch living rooms. In other news, Anneke and THE GATHERING keyboardist Frank Boeijen will play three songs live on guitar and grand piano on the radio show "Tros Muziek Café" on May 1. The performance, which will take place in front of a live audience, will be broadcast from Studio Plantage in Amsterdam, Holland. For more information, visit www.muziekcafe.nl.
Also on THE GATHERING front, the band will recount some of their favorite tour stories during an appearance on the Radio 1's BNN "United" show on May 3 between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Exclusive live recordings from the latest tour will also be aired. Drummer Hans Rutten and guitarist Rene Rutten will also appear on the Radio 3FM program "Buzz" on May 15. The interview will be conducted live from the Melkweg venue during the "Muzikantendag 2004" festival in Amsterdam.
As previously reported, THE GATHERING will compose music for the Amsterdam film academy graduation film, "The Quiet One" by Danyael Sugawara. "The Quiet One" is a complete Japanese film "about a boy Kiyoshi (18) who lives in total isolation from the outside world in his parents' kitchen.
